A lot of you reading this have been training for years.
Hitting the gym consistently, eating clean, monitoring your calories and getting 8 hours of sleep every night.
Doing everything by the book.
But when people look at you, they can hardly tell whether you work out or not.
I certainly can’t tell.
Despite your efforts, your results aren’t there.
We’re going to change that. But first, let me show you why you’ve been banging your head against a wall.
The human body is a magnificent survival machine. Built to endure and overcome nature’s hardest challenges.
Famines, extreme climates, relentless physical trials.. your body can handle it all.
Being jacked like Reacher will not improve your chances of survival and in many cases, can prove a detriment.
You see, the growth and maintenance of muscle is energy-costly. Big pecs and arms are wasteful, metabolically speaking, because they require abundant nutrition.
And you’re not going to convince your body to add more beef to your frame by hitting a couple sets of curls at the gym while sipping on a protein shake.
Listen here..
You wanna grow? You wanna reach your genetic potential?
Push harder.
“But Victor, I’m completely out of breath and drenched in sweat..”
Did you do more reps than last time? Did you push yourself to a new level?
Did you FORCE your body to get bigger and stronger?
Training has to be painful.
You have to generate pain through movement and stay in that pain zone for as long as you can.
That’s the ONLY way to grow beyond the beginner level.
You have to become comfortable in discomfort. And then you have to raise the level of discomfort.
How many handstand push-ups can you do? If I slap a 20 kg weight vest on your back, how many reps could you now do?
No Growth in Comfort
Look at me. My physique hasn’t changed dramatically in the last 2 years.
Sure.. I’m in decent shape, but I haven’t made the kind of progress I should’ve made.
Partly, because I was undereating. But more than anything, because I’ve been too comfortable.
Yeah.. you see me work out every day.
You see me do sets of 20 perfect one-arm push-ups, 20+ immaculate pull-ups, and suicidal sets of burpees.
But for me, it’s just another Tuesday morning.
Training every day has become my norm. Doing 100s of push-ups and squats is my norm.
That is my COMFORT ZONE.
In order for me to move forward, I have to step out of that comfort zone.
In order for you to make progress, you have to STEP OUT of that comfort zone.
What is your comfort zone?
The stuff you’ve been doing for the last 6 months, habitually.
The same exercises, the same number of sets and reps. The same workout.
That’s your comfort zone.
You must push yourself beyond that if you want to grow.
Not every single set. Not even every workout. But you have to raise the bar CONSISTENTLY to make any kind of progress.
Doing more half-assed sets and piling on more food is not the answer.
How to Grow More Muscle Faster
Growth is stimulated IN TRAINING.
The food is merely there to solidify growth. It is not the primary driver of growth.
Training is. Always was.
Go into your training accordingly. Make sure you perform every set with immaculate form (no half reps, no momentum) and sufficient intensity.
Reach the point in your set where you are no longer able to perform another repetition with good form.
Do that for 2 sets per exercise. Next time you’re training the same exercise, add another rep or graduate to more difficult variants.
Repeat until jacked.
If you haven’t made the kind of progress that leaves people speechless, I can guarantee you’re not tracking your workouts and chasing consistent progress in your training.
Do this for me: Add 10 clean reps to your max pull-ups, dips and single-leg squats in the next 6 months, and tell me again how you can’t build muscle.
Correct. We won’t be having this conversation.
And you wouldn’t be looking at suspect supplements or silly diets online anymore.
Isn’t that something worth fighting for? Isn’t that something worth suffering for?
Don’t just blindly enter the gym hoping for the best.
You already know that doesn’t work!!
Get serious. Log every session and be hellbent on beating your former best.
Do this over and over again. Week after week, month after month, year after year.
While making sure to provide adequate nutrition to maximize your results.
That’s how you build muscle. That’s how you build the body of your dreams.
What are you still waiting for?
Leave your comfort zone in the dust.
We got work to do.
