It’s easy to talk about it. It’s easy to pretend.
It’s hard to actually step up and do what is necessary. It’s hard to walk the walk.
But that is what separates us from them.
Don’t Waste Your Time
A quick stroll through your neighborhood gym paints a sad picture of the modern male. Spending hours on treadmills, ellipticals or some other nonsensical torture device, he wastes the little energy left in his brittle body. If he does decide to step into the weight room, he looks lost and desperate, like Bambi in a lion’s den.
No purpose. No intensity. No drive.
Don’t waste your time.
If you’re not willing to work hard, to put yourself through the grinder, to push yourself beyond your comfort zone, don’t waste your time. Find a new hobby.
“But I train to be fit and healthy, not to be an athlete…”
Fit and healthy? Your ancestors are turning in their grave.
You are still a survival machine built to outlast and thrive under extreme hardship. Mindlessly running on a treadmill, doing silly ab routines and sitting down on exercise machines (sitting during a workout? Don’t make me laugh!) are not what you were designed to do.
Challenge yourself. Fight for every inch of progress. This is your time to kill.
Veni Vidi Vici
When the gym doors close behind you, it’s on. Anything clouding your mind or stressing you out must take a backseat. Bills, marital problems, and other shit don’t exist here.
The gym is your playground. It is here where you express yourself in the most authentic, most truthful form. It is here where you become who you need to be.
That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy every second of your training. Not at all. What it means is you have a clear purpose and you use your time in the gym to move closer to that purpose. The time spent building your body is sacred and must be treated as such.
Mind Over Matter
Take your brain out of the equation. Don’t think, do. Let your body do the talking. Let the motions pump blood through your system. Let the glands produce happy chemicals. Let the rush consume you.
This is where you become who you need to be in this world.
We’ve conditioned ourselves to believe that physicality is but a nuisance. That everything can be solved with mental effort alone and that using raw muscular force is a sign of savagery. But you’re not smarter than your biological heritage.
The physical is your true essence.
You and I, we are a rare breed. We don’t expect something for nothing. We understand that our rewards will always be in exact proportion to our efforts. We shudder at the thought of complacency and embrace the hardship.
We will not stop. We cannot stop. We lust for our time to kill.
