I had a dream the other day.
It was one of the most intense sensory experiences I’ve ever had (no, I don’t do drugs).
In this dream, I was controlling a protagonist through different levels or stages like you would in a video game. I was interacting with different people, in different parts of the world and through different timelines.
The protagonist was me. And the different levels were a collection of real-world scenarios all sharing one universal theme.
Everything In Life Is For The Taking
Unlike most dreams, this wasn’t a passive experience. I was in control at all times and could replay the different segments over and over again.
And although I could tell the dream wasn’t real, I couldn’t “turn it off”. I couldn’t snap out of it until the message was clear before my eyes. It was like an otherworldly force was trying to tell me something, to beat something into my consciousness.
The message was strikingly simple, yet powerful beyond words: Everything in life is for the taking.
If you want something, you take it.
If you don’t take it, it’s because you choose not to, not because you can’t. Nothing is holding you back. Nobody is keeping you tied down but yourself.
Anything you want is right there. It is right there in front of you. Stick your hand out and grab it, or wait for someone else to do it.
Don’t Play Nice
“If any of my competitors were drowning, I’d stick a hose in their mouth.” – Ray Kroc
Throughout it all, a song was playing on repeat in the background.
When I woke up in the middle of the night, I still had the music echoing in my ears. The words repeating in my head over and over again. Only it wasn’t a real song. I never heard that song before.
It had a slow and smooth rhythm to it and the chorus went something like this (I jotted this down on my phone right after waking): “Try to play it nice for her, try to do what’s right for her, only she don’t care.”
Now, despite the romantic tone, this wasn’t a love song. These words served as a reminder and a warning.
Nice guys always finish last.
If you think you’ll get ahead in this world by playing nice, by following the rules, by doing what everybody else does, you’re dead wrong.
This world will eat you alive if you “play nice”.
If you want something, you go and take it. You do not ask for permission. You go and take it.
Nothing is off limits for the person willing to do what is necessary.
Winner Take All
“It’s a big world out there and there is plenty for your taking. Be a man and take it.” – Victor Pride
Make no mistake about it. There’s no such thing as something for nothing.
Everybody wants to get fit. Everybody wants to get rich. And everybody wants to get laid. But only a tiny percentile is ready to step up and do what it takes. Only a select few are willing to pay the price.
We all want to catch the big fish, but most of us don’t even have the balls to cast the fishing rod.
You have to be ready to give everything to get everything in return. Give all to get all. That is the deal.
Yet, most of you reading this will never understand. Most people will never grasp this universal truth. The complainers, the whiners, the weaklings will never understand.
And that’s OK.
The ones that do get it, know this to be true. And they act on it every single day. They make their own rules, they follow their own path and they take what they want.
I had a dream the other day. Only it wasn’t a dream. It was real.
The world is yours. Take it, or someone else will.
Thank you for reading
Victor
